The manjula pothos is distinguished by its oversized, heart-shaped foliage adorned with breathtaking variegation in shades of white, green, and cream. This particular type of pothos is relatively rare and can be more challenging to find compared to other varieties.
To care for a Manjula Pothos, it's important to provide it with the right conditions. Here are some guidelines:
Lighting: Place your Manjula Pothos in a well-lit area with bright, indirect light, such as near a window with a sheer curtain. Avoid direct sunlight as it can damage the leaves.
Temperature: Keep your Manjula Pothos in a room with temperatures between 18-29°C. Avoid exposing it to cold drafts or extreme temperature fluctuations.
Watering: Water your Manjula Pothos when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Avoid over-watering, as it can cause root rot. Make sure the pot has drainage holes to allow excess water to escape.
Humidity: Manjula Pothos prefer moderate to high humidity. You can increase humidity around the plant by placing it on a tray of pebbles filled with water or using a humidifier.
Fertilizing: Feed your Manjula Pothos with a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer), following the instructions on the fertilizer label.
Pruning: Regularly prune your Manjula Pothos to promote bushier growth and maintain its shape. Trim yellow or brown leaves to keep the plant looking healthy.
Propagation: Manjula Pothos are easy to propagate. Take stem cuttings with at least two leaves and place them in water or well-draining soil until roots develop.
Potting: Repot your Manjula Pothos every 1-2 years or when it becomes root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix and choose a pot slightly larger than the current one.
By providing the right lighting, temperature, water, humidity, fertilizing, pruning, propagation, and potting, you can ensure your Manjula Pothos thrives and grows into a stunning and healthy houseplant.
