The Pearls and Jade Pothos Cutting is a showstopping plant with beautiful, variegated leaves. Boasting an array of greens, whites, yellows and ivories, this low-maintenance plant is sure to be a statement piece in any environment. The Pothos is known to thrive in indirect lighting and require less watering than other plants - perfect for busy lifestyles.
Light
- These plants prefer bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch their leaves.
- They can tolerate lower light conditions, but their variegation may become less pronounced.
Temperature
- Maintain temperatures between 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C). They can tolerate slight fluctuations but should be protected from drafts and extreme cold.
Watering
- Allow the top inch or two of the soil to dry out before watering. Poke your finger into the soil to check moisture levels.
- When you water, do so thoroughly, ensuring water reaches the root system. Allow excess water to drain from the pot's bottom.
- Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's crucial not to let the plant sit in standing water.
Humidity
- Pothos appreciate moderate to high humidity levels. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves or placing a humidity tray nearby.
- In drier indoor environments, consider using a room humidifier to maintain humidity levels.
Potting Mix
- Use a well-draining potting mix that contains peat, perlite, or vermiculite. A standard indoor plant mix should work well.
- Repot your Pearl and Jade Pothos when it becomes root-bound or when the soil is no longer providing adequate nutrients.
Fertilizing
- Feed your Pothos every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring through summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer at half the recommended strength.
- Reduce or suspend feeding during the fall and winter when the plant's growth slows down.
Pruning and Trimming
- Prune your Pothos regularly to encourage bushier growth and remove leggy stems. You can also pinch back the tips to promote branching.
- Trim yellow or dead leaves and stems as needed to maintain a tidy appearance.
Support
- Provide a trellis, moss pole, or other support if you want your Pothos to grow vertically. They can also be left to trail if you prefer a hanging or cascading look.
Remember that every plant is unique, and you may need to adjust your care routine slightly based on the specific conditions in your home. With proper care, your Pearl and Jade Pothos should remain vibrant and lush for years to come.
